Our Craft Lounge Challenge 66

Once again it is time for another Our Craft Lounge Challenge!  This week's challenge is a supply challenge where you use Baker's Twine.

Getting right to work, I decided to use Our Craft Lounge Stamp, "Jungle Love".  The paper I used is from some scrap paper that was given to me by a friend.  Sorry,  I do not know the company it came from but I do know the cardstock is from Bazzil.
The picture was colored using Copic Markers: R20, C7, Y25, YR 21, YR23, YR 24, N1, N2, B21, B23, B41, B45.  It is Purffff-fect!  The Baker's Twine was used to enhance the card along with the button.  I am please with the way it turned out and I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend and Happy Creating!

Our Craft Lounge Challenge 65

Vacationing for a month did not allow me to participate in the OCL Challenges so I thought I would give it a try before our next trip!  I love the colors from the idea picture and wanted to make my card light, airy and Springy.

The stamp I choose is Our Craft Lounge's, "Life a Picnic".  Love the ants.  They make me laugh. The pattern paper used is from Echo Park Paper and called, "Sweet Summertime".  I chose three colors from my Bazzil cardstock to coordinate with the flowers on the paper.  The sentiment on the front is from the stamp set and on the inside is a quote by Marie Dressler I found.  It just went along with the ants having their picnic, so I used my computer to generated her quote.

A bunny, bee, butterfly and lady bug brads were used to enhance the card along with the hot pink polka dot ribbon. Spellbinder Octagon Die Cut was used to frame both images. Copic markers BV00, BG000, C1, C2, C3, C4,  C5, E53, E55, E57, R22, R24, R27, RV 02, RV4, RV63, RV55, YG11, and YG25.

I must say this was a really fun card to put together and I am happy with the way it turned out.  Hope you like it.  I appreciate you stopping by,  hope you have an awesome weekend!

Poppy Fields

I had the strangest thing happen to me, when I posted this to my blog last night it never showed up! LOL So I am going to try it one more time and hope that it works.

This darling little guy is another Penny Black hedge hog stamp, "Poppy Fields".  The paper I used was from and older 6x6 paper pad I found in my basket.  Looking completely over the stack I was not able to find the name of the company who made the paper.  I apologize for not being able to give them credit.

Embellishments included a blue ribbon, red flower with a beaded brad as the center and a little butterfly stick pin.  Copic markers were used to color the image and include B21, 24, C4,  C6, C8, E000, E02, G40, G82, R22, R24. and R27.

This is a very simple, fun card that may be used for many different occasions, as you can see I left off the sentiment.

Hope you have a great day. Happy creating!

Thanks a Bunch

Hope everyone had a fantastic Mother's Day weekend.  I sure did! It was a relaxing weekend with family.  Great time!

Today's card is an adorable hedge hog in a watering can.  The stamp is by Penny Black and is called "Yearning".  The floral pattern paper is from a K & Company stack- "Feuilles".   Pink and yellow cardstock by Bazzil was enhanced  using Spellbinders Nestiblities Large Deckeled Rectangles and a scalloped rectangular punch.

The polka dot ribbon from Michaels, a butterfly brad along with the computer generated sentiment finish the card.  Copic markers were used to color the image.  Colors included: BG000, C1, C3, C5, C8, Y6, Y8, E000, E02, E31, E35, E37, G12,  and G14.

I love Penny Black's hedge hogs and I enjoy coloring them.  I hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed coloring it.  Thanks for stopping by.

Whew Hew, I Did It1

My blog today is dedicated to a former student of mine, Jason Campos, who is graduating, Cum Laude, tomorrow from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.  I am so proud to be a part of his life and also to have had an influence on him in deciding his career!  As a Sixth Grade Teacher, I loved teaching about the Ancient Civilization and felt it was important to make history come alive for my students.  It did have an impact of Jason, who has received a scholarship to travel to China this summer and study Chinese History. Upon his return he will head up to Massachusetts to work on his Doctorate in Colonial History.

I made this card especially for Jason and I know he is going to like it.  The image is a digital from Mo Manning called "Glad Grad Boy".  Graphic 45 paper was used from their Communique and Fashionista Collection.  The berry red and black cardstock is from World Wine Paper. The sentiment is computer generated using a font called, chalkdust. A thin gold ribbon and a graduation hat brad were used for the embellishment.

The inside of the card is finished with the same papers with a quote from one of my favorite authors, Dr. Seuss!

Copic Markers were used to color the image.  They included: C2, C4, C6, C9, B91, B93, B95, Y15, Y17, E000, E02, E21, E23, E25 and W1.  The background is airbrushed with BG000.

I love it!  I am so happy with the way it turned out and I hope you like it as well.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by and please check back tomorrow! Oh and if you have the time, please leave a comment.

Gone Fishing

After being gone for over a month, I am ready to get my blog back up and running.  Our vacation started with a trip to Phoenix for the Copic Intermediate Class and ended by just arriving home on Tuesday night!  I must say it is great to be retired!

The card for my post today is a Penny Black Hedgehog Stamp entitled: "Fish are Jumpin'".  The paper is by  DCWV   and comes from their Nantucket Stack Collection.  I also used a dark navy and red cardstock from Bazzil to frame the pattern paper.

I secured a small brad to the Happy Birthday sentiment and tied a piece of string to it, made a hook from a paper clip, and used a silver fish charm to finish off the embellishment.  The Copic markers used included: E000, E02, E33, E35, C2, C4, C6, C8, BV00, BV02, G40, G82, B00, B02.

This image would also make a cute  Father's Day card.  I hope you like the card as much as I enjoyed putting it together!  I really feels good to be back in the swing of things!  Thanks for stopping by.

"Sprout"

What a wonderful Thursday it has been.  Spent time working in the yard, played a game, and now it is time to finish my post.

I choose a digi image that I purchased where all the money  went to "Help Katie".  A mother with many more concerns than anyone deserves including financial.  The image from the package is a Mo Manning digi entitled, "Sprout".

The pattern paper is from an older BasicGrey paper pad and the card stock is from Bazzil.  "Sprout" was colored with Copic Markers: Y 11, Y 15, E31, E33, E35, E000, E02, R1, G02, G03, YR2. YR16, andYR68.  The sentimate is from Just Rite Stamps and the ribbon is from Michaels.

I think "Sprout" is an adorable little digi and she spreads the gift of sunshine to anyone that sees her.   Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day.

Spring Has Sprung

It is a beautiful day in Southern California and the weather is starting to warm up to the 80's.  I feel like I have been rejuvenated and Spring definitely has sprung!

Today, I chose to post flowers.  The stamp is by Stampendous and is so easy to work with.  Three colors, that's all it takes and the flowers are painted.  I used Copic Marker  RV00, RV 55, RV63.  The center of the flower was done with Our Craft Lounge's Sparkly Fluff, "Eyeliner Black".  In addition to the Bazzill lavender cardstock the paper chosen was from a Susan Winget Botanical Specialty Paper Pad by K&Company.  The embellishments are a mauve ribbon and the cut outs were made using Spellbinders Shapabilities.

The card itself has multiple possibilities and can be used as a Thank You, Birthday or even a Sympathy card.  I love these flowers!

Hope you have a wonderful day!  Happy creating!

"Hedge Word"

It is a beautiful Monday morning and the rain has finally stopped for awhile.  The card I am posting is a Birthday card with my favorite Hedge Hogs from Penny Black.  The stamp is called " Hedge Word"

I think it is adorable!  You do not need a sentiment since it is already there.  The paper is from Basic Grey and is entitled, "Life of the Party".  The Hedge Hogs are definitely the life of the party!lol  The red cardstock is from Bazzill and believe it or not the blue is from the back of one of the Basic Grey papers I used.

Three yellow button were used to enrich the card.  Embroidery thread was tied in the center of each button.  Copic Markers were used to color the image and included:  E00, E02, R11 C1, C6, and E000.

I really think it is a cute card and would be good for either a male or female.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  If you like the card, please leave a comment and even better sign up to be a follower.  Hope your Monday is great!

Our Craft Lounge 58 - Sketch Challenge - Tweet

Happy Friday!  I feel like I am on a roll  and have had a great time working on my cards.  Today's card is for the Our Craft Lounge Sketch Challenge # 58.  I used their stamps set, "Tweet Thang".   This was a fun, cute card to make.

The three colors of cardstock chosen are by Bazzill.  The patterned papers are from an old Basic Grey tablet I found when straightening up my craft room.  A Martha Stewart punch was used to make the crown like border and Spellbinders, Nestibilities, Label Four was used to enhance the image and sentiment.   Embellishments included three little flower brads, ribbon and a soft yellow button.  The image was colored with Copic Markers, Y11, Y15,  YG 00. YG01, YG 03, YG07, YG63, YR 61, YR65, YR82, R11, R20 and N1.

The card seems very crisp and clean and I must say, I love it!!  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a fantastic weekend!

Let's Bar-B-Que

I have gotten so far behind on my posting, mainly due to just being lazy with all the rain! Now I  am playing catch up.

Whether it is rain or shine at our home we bar-b-que!  This gave me the idea for a card for men and I found this stamp by Hambo and it is perfect!

The dotted paper is from Graphic 45's "Fashionista Collection" and the apron paper is from Moixxie's "Joy of Baking- Cook Wear".  Black and red cardstock from Bazzill was used and cut out with Spellbinders, Nestibilities Label Two.  Red and White twine was used as an embellishment along with a black button.  The sentiment is computer generated.
The same papers we used to finish off the inside with a special birthday wish.

I really love this card!  The chef makes me laugh but I know it is so typical of men at the barb-b-que.
Copic markers were used to color him.  They included:  E00, E02. R22, R24, R27, B21, B23, C0, C02, and C6.

I hope you like my little post today!

Hugs,

Love

Happy Thursday!  All I can say is " rain, rain, go away, come again another day."  I am tired of the rain and the cold in Southern California!  I need SUN!!!!

Today, I have a special little card I made for my cousin in Florida. She recently got engaged and is celebrating this Saturday!  I found this image by Wee Stamps and I knew it was the perfect image for my card!
The paper is from Susan Winget's Specialty Paper Pad by K & Company.  I used Martha Stewart's punch to make the design in the Bazill card stock and mounted it on white.  The pearl embellishments are from Say it With Bling and the ribbon from Michael's.  A computer generated sentiment seemed to finish of the front of the card.
I decorated the inside of the card using the same Martha Stewart punch along with a piece of the paper.  A message regarding "Love" and Congratulations were computer generated and place on the inside of the card.

Copic Markers were used to color the image.  They included: B21, B23, Y11, Y15, R12, G40, G82, BV000, BV01.

This was a fun little card to complete and I know precious Michelle and her guy, Johnny, will really like it.  I am so happy with the way it turned out.  I can hardly wait for it to get to them.

I hope you like the card!  Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time----

OCL 57 - Clean and Simple Challenge

The weekend is here and it  is time for another Our Craft Lounge Challenge!  This weeks challenge is to make it make your card clean and simple with some embossing.  So here goes.

I decided to use the stamp set from Our Craft Lounge entitled;- "Granny's Secrets".  She really is a cutie!  The sentiment from the same set.  Susan Winget Specialty Paper from K & Company was used for the background.  I used an Cuttlebug Embossing Folder to make the polka dots on the purple Bazzill cardstock and the ribbon was from a scrap found in my ribbon basket.
The Copic markers used included: E33, E35, E00, E02, C0, C1, BV00, BV01, RV00, RV11.  I really liked the way the card turned out and I do like its simplicity!  Thanks for taking your time to stop by and check out my card.  Hope you have a great weekend.

Our Craft Lounge Challenge 56 - Supplies

Wishing you a Spectacular Saturday!  There is one thing for sure, the weekends always seem to be busier than a week day and I'm retired!

My card today is for the Our Craft Lounge Challenge 56 - "Supplies".  In other words use Bling!  When Graphic 45 came out with the "Le Cirque Collection", I wanted to use it!  Next, Our Craft Lounge came out with one of their new releases called,"Circus, Circus" and it all came together with a little bling.  It may be hard to tell from the picture, but the elephant's head is over laid and popped up.  He has a little bit of Sparkly Fluff in his ears. Trying to make the tent look like it was made of cloth, I added more Sparkly Fluff.  The mane and tail of the lion also has, you guessed it, Sparkly Fluff!

Having taught for 42 years, I crazy for  Dr. Seuss and since March 2nd was his birthday I decided to use a Dr. Seuss saying.  It comes in another OCL stamp pack entitled, "The Pond", and just seemed fitting for this card.  I also decided that this would be a fun graduation card so, I finished off the inside with another saying from Dr. Seuss typed on the Computer!

I am really happy with the way it turned out and I hope you like it as well!

Here is a list of the supplies used.

Sweet Baby Girl

Fabulous Friday!   Welcome to my blog and the latest posting.  Today's card is a sweet baby card made for my friend's daughter's first baby shower.  I found this picture on Mo's Digital Pencil and yes, it is by Mo Manning.

I think the picture is absolutely precious so, the card had to be as well.  I finally found the paper I wanted to use at Michaels.  It is by Deja Views, Sharon Ann Baby Collection and the paper is double sided.  I made an easel card so it could be put in the nursery.

The pink and green cardstock blend well together.  The cardstock is Bazzil's "Betty Blush" and  "Spring Breeze".  A Martha Stuart punch was used to make the loop boarders from both colors. The pearl scrolls, from Want 2 Scrap, were added to make the card girlie.  Soft, pink, organdy ribbon with polka dots, hold a charm, stating, "It's a Girl!".

Spelbinders, Shapabilities, "Fleur De Lis Motifs were used along with their Circle dies.  The sentiment was typed on the computer using one of my favorite fonts called, Zapfino.

Copic marker used included: RV11, RV11, E00, E02, BG01, Bg11, E53, Y11, Y15.

I guess that is it.  I must say, I love the way the card turn out!

Thank for taking your time to stop on by.

Fore......

It is a wonderful Wednesday here in Southern California!!  The temperature is a warm 80 degrees and the skies are a vivid blue.  Awesome!!

Today, I chose another stamp from Penny Black and it is another Hedge Hog.  Believe it or not, I can't find the name.  Isn't he cute?  I needed to make a card for one of our camping friend's birthday and I just knew Hedgy was the perfect stamp.

The colors I choose are definitely manly and work well with  the image.   Cardstock and ribbon  from my scrap basket were used.  To get the rough edges, I tore the paper and used scissors.  The sentiment was done on my computer and cut out with a circle punch.  Finally, I colored with Copic Markers; G12, G14, E00, E02, R22, C1, C3, C5.

I really love the way the card turned out and I am sure our friend, Frank, will like it as well.   Thanks for stopping by.

Ready for the Easter Parade

Happy Monday! Here we are already seven says into March and Spring is fast approaching.  I decided it was time to work on an Easter card even though it is late in April this year.

The stamp I chose for today is a Penny Black stamp called,"Easter Bonnet".  I think this duck is so cute with her beautiful large bonnet.  She makes me smile and giggle a little, but most all she sparks so many wonderful memories of growing up in Philadelphia and getting ready for Easter!  The  new dresses, shoes and hats were always such a thrill for my sister and me.  We even got new gloves so we could be perfect little ladies. lol

The paper I chose is from K & Company, Botanical Specialty Paper Pad designed by Susan Winget.  The pad has some absolutely beautiful floral papers in it and I can hardly wait to use then other cards.   Another new purchase this weekend is the Martha Stewart punch with the flowers and leaves.  Love it!

I must say, I am very happy how this card turned out.  I hope you like it as well.

OCL55 - CASE Challenge

Well, here it is again, time for another Our Craft Lounge Challenge!  I do not know what happened to the week, but I sure didn't accomplish everything I wanted to or even get my posting done.

The challenge this week is entitled: Copy and Share Everything.  So, here is my version.  I used Debbie Corbrai's card from OCL's Sneak Peak Day One called, "Hey Chick."

I took the liberty of using the Eyelet Squares from Spellbinders since I do not have the Scalloped Squares. Which  means, there is another Spellbinders set to purchase.  In looking at the picture, it looks a little crooked to me. Does that mean the photography is off or I need a new pair of glasses?   Sorry!

Below is a list of the supplies used.
Thanks for taking the time to stop on by!  Hope you have a great Sunday.

Happy Birthday Colby

It has been a Mad Monday around our home!  Mind you it has been freezing cold in California, not like what the people on the East Coast have in endured, but for us 30 degrees is quite cold!  The thermostat on the heater died and the repair company can not get to us for two days. My hands have been cold so I decided to use them by spending time coloring.

OK, there is a brighter side to what ever happens!  Believe me when I say that I am a lucky person because I was an educator for 42 years and I was able to touch the lives of so many children and they in return touched mine and still do!  I have one very special young man, my cling on when I had him, who lives close by and has become a fantastic adult.  The card I made is for Colby who's like a son.  We are both dog lovers and that makes this the most appropriate stamp for him.

I choose Our Craft Lounge's "Pat the Bad Dog".  His dog, Moose, doesn't go after the shoes but he decided to leave a special package when he was inside Bass Pro Shop the other day.[lol]  So, Pat was the right stamp to choose.

I love Graphic 45 paper and their vivid colors. I am so thrilled with the way the card turned out and I know Colby will love it!

Here is the list of the supplies I used.

Wishing you a glorious Monday!  Thanks for stopping by.

Our Craft Lounge Challenge 54 - Ribbit

It's Saturday night and after attending a fantastic baby shower for twins during the day, I decided I needed to get my card completed and so I did!

I must say I feel very fortunate to have the stamp I chose for today!  Yesterday, my sister and I attended Scrapbook Expo in Anaheim where we were able to purchase four of the new release stamps from Our Craft Lounge.  It was a hard decision on which one to use since they are all so cute!   I  finally chose "The Pond" to use on my card.

Now I needed to make another decision - which stamp to use.  Well, the lily pad and frog won out.
I took the liberty of flipping the sketch because I felt the lily pad need to be oblong.  I stayed with blue tones and I am very happy with it.  The supplies I used are listed below.
Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

Black and White

Happy Wednesday!  I have been looking forward to working with black and white paper for a while but I could not make a decision on it until I found the right stamp.  When I purchased Our Craft Lounge's stamp set, "Vintage Traveler", I just knew I was on the right track.

I used Memento Black ink to stamp on Copic X-Press It Blending Card. Next I mounted the images on black cardstock from Die Cuts With a View finally used Canvas Core papers called: Black and White Mini Dots Reverse along with Black and White Ribbon Strips.  While you can't real tell from the picture, I used pop dots to the top and bottom image.

It is a very crisp, clean card and I am totally pleased with it.  Hope you like it as well.  Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great Crafting Day!

Irish Blessing

It is another beautiful day in Southern California and a holiday to boot.  Today I have a very simple post since March is rapidly approaching. The stamp I used is from Peddler's Pack and is called, "Shamrock Background.

The paper I chose is from Best Creation, " Saint Patrick's Collection" and the cardstock is from Bazzill.

Martha Stewart's clover punch was used as an embellishment along with yellow grosgrain ribbon.  The sentiment is written by hand since we were out traveling in our motorhome at the time.  Copic Markers used include:  G40, G82, G85, Y11, Y15 and YR12.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a wonderful beginning to your week and a sensational crafting day!

A Special Gift of Love

It is Sunday and a beautiful day in California.  With all the rain yesterday and snow elevation in our mountains low we have a beautiful view of the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains.  They are absolutely gorgeous today!

As I said yesterday on my post I spent the day making cards.  Have you ever been invited to three showers on the same day and it also just happens to your sisters birthday? lol   Well, I have.  So today I am going to share a couple of the cards I finished for the baby showers.  This first one will be off to Florida for my cousin's shower.  You guessed it, I will not be attending.

Browsing online I found this beautiful digi stamp by Wink Wink Ink entitled "Blossom Baby".  I fell in love with it and knew it was the right picture for a baby shower.  The card I made is an easel card.  It is in peach tones just right for a baby girl whose name will be Marlee Rose.  Thumbing through my stash of paper I found the perfect paper by Graphic 45 from their "Baby and Bride Collection".  I love it!!

Isn't she the cutest?  My next card is going to stay here in California close by.  My friend is having twins, a boy and a girl, so I decided to make the flower shades of lavender and the paper and ribbon as well.  This beautiful paper is from Webster's Pages, "Your Life, Beautiful".  On both flowers I used Martha Stewart's crystal fine glitter to accent the tips of the petals and the little wings on the baby.

I should have taken a picture of the insides since it is for twins, but I forgot.  The verse on the inside says:

                    Two sweet little treasures
                            sent from above,
a coo and a smile, both
                          wrapped up in love.
                   Congratulations on your new
                                    babies!

I do not remember where I found this little saying and who's the author but I changed it a little to work for the twins.

I hope you like the post today and that you will take the time to leave a comment.  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great crafting day!

Our Craft Lounge Challenge 53 - Glitter in the Wind

Happy Saturday!  With rain off and on today I spent most of my time working on my cards.  Getting the pictures perfected and completing the post seems to be more difficult at times than I would like.  So, there are times I just avoid it.   Today I just knew I had to get it done!

What will it be this week?  That is the questions I ask every Friday when I head to my computer to check out Our Craft Lounge's Blog and the Friday Challenge.  To me this one was quite different, a picture!  I have never attempted a challenge with the picture and I wasn't really sure how to go about this.  After studying the picture for a long time, I looked for the paper and came up with the combination I liked.  Next, I looked  for the stamp.  I just knew that designers would use OCL's "Pretty Petals", so for me that was out of the question.  When I came across "Dandy Days" I thought that I could make this work and my hope is that it did!

So here is my card with and without the sentiment.  I am not sure what they call this type of card but I like the way it opens and the layers it provides.

Inside of Card
I hope you like the card and my variation of the challenge!  Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to stop by my blog.  If you can, please leave a comment.

Happy Birthday

Happy Valentine's Day and it is Monday, the start of a great new week!

It seems as though I have so many friends having birthdays this month that I needed to get on the ball and make a few birthday cards.  So today I chose my favorite little hedge hog from Penny Black.
I really am a dog lover, especially Golden Retrievers, but I am smitten with Penny Blacks Hedge Hogs.

It is a  very simple card and I know my friend will enjoy it.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  Hope you will come back.

Erin Go Braugh!

Wahoo!  I am finally able to get another post in the same day!  I must admit that I have become intrigued by many of the digi stamps.  I was checking out this one company called Doodle Dragon Studios and I came across this cute Leprechaun.

Not everyone is interested in Saint Patrick’s Day but as a former teacher we celebrated every occasion.  I even had one friend who would sneak into my room and make leprechaun foot prints all over the file cabinets, the desks and even some on the walls.  It was great fun!
I hope you like my little card and I thank you for taking the time to stop by!  Have a wonderful Crafting Day!

OCL Challenge 52....Buttons and Bows

Well here it is another challenge at Our Craft Lounge and I am ready to play!  This weeks challenge is Buttons and Bows.  It reminds me of an old Dinah Shore Song - Buttons and Bows where she sings "I’ll be yours in buttons and bows."

So here is my card and I just love it.  I chose the Easter rabbit from “Hoppin’ Into Spring”.  Isn’t this little guy adorable?  He reminds me of Peter Rabbit and great childhood memories.  When I pulled this stamp out I knew that the Graphic 24 - “Once Upon a Time Springtime Collection” was the paper to use.

It is always a great pleasure when people stop by and visit the blog.  It is very much appreciated as well as comments.  That is how we learn.  If you would like to become a follower that would be great too!

Thanks for taking the time and please come back often.
Have a great crafting Day and Happy Valentines Day!
